Here is a simple recipe for homemade lemonade. This serves approximately 4 glasses, so increase the quantities as you wish.
What you’ll need:
4 large, juicy lemons (to make 1 cup of lemon juice)
3/4 cup caster sugar
3 cups cold water
Ice (approx. 2 cups)
Lemon slices, to serve
What to do:
In a pot, bring 1 cup of water to the boil. Remove from the heat and add the caster sugar. Stir well until the sugar is completely dissolved.
Set aside to cool completely.
Pour 2 cups of cold water into a jug. Juice the lemons and add to the water. Pour in the cooled sugar mixture and stir well until combined.
If using a carafe or drink dispenser, fill with the lemonade mixture. Add the ice cubes and lemon slices just before serving.
To serve:
To serve your homemade lemonade, use paper cups or glass bottles and don’t forget colourful straws! Glass drink dispensers not only look great, they’re also easy for little ones to fill the cups and bottles from.
