Caring For Stainless Steel Outdoor Furniture
Caring for stainless steel outdoor furniture
The level of care your stainless steel outdoor furniture needs will largely depend on your environment. A dining table placed on a city balcony, for example, will require more attention than one in an undercover space simply due to the high exposure of pollutants. Equally, outdoor furniture placed in a coastal environment or a place with high humidity will also require a more frequent clean.
Regardless of the location, regular care is the key to maintaining your stainless steel outdoor furniture. If the furniture is well looked after, you should only need to clean it once or twice a year.
Follow these steps and your furniture will look good for longer.
- Regularly wipe down your stainless steel with a microfibre cloth to remove any cloudy build-up.
- To clean, wash the furniture with warm soapy water using a soft cloth. A pH-neutral detergent is best.
- Wash in one direction following the original lines in the polish. Rinse well with clean water.
- To remove fingerprints or stains, try a 3M® Scotch Brite Pad or stainless steel cleaner.
It’s important to avoid heavy cleaning with harsh chemicals such as bleach or tools such as steel wool and metallic scrapers. These will damage the integrity of the stainless steel.
