The site was cleared and a series of rooms within the garden were created. With a strong focus on reusing materials, existing bricks were used to create a three tiered water feature that acts to diffuse the noise naturally generated from living in the city.

The site was cleared and a series of rooms within the garden were created. With a strong focus on reusing materials, existing bricks were used to create a three tiered water feature that acts to diffuse the noise naturally generated from living in the city. Mature plantings of bamboo, magnolias, oak leaf hydrangeas and a stunning feature maple worked together to create privacy and a beautiful secluded garden. Bluestone paving and Alpine dry stone walling for elevated garden beds work in seamlessly with the overall design providing a low maintenance, natural stone finish that is beautiful underfoot. The design of this project proved particularly challenging as it’s on top of an existing double garage. It was important that the design team addressed all weight bearing issues in the concept stage and waterproofing was an important aspect of the installation. As the garden is overshadowed by surrounding buildings plant species were carefully selected, and a crane was used to lift mature plants into the garden for immediate impact from day one.
